Professional Engineering Office was a licensed engineering consultancy established in 1997, offering building plans and permits, supervision and project management, civil-defence works, interior design, surveying and planning, and government liaison across two branches. Between 2023 and 2025 Alnitak built and ran its first real web presence: an Arabic-first, right-to-left site organised around the office's completed work, with a password-protected editor so staff published new projects themselves, and an enquiry pipeline that reached four named inboxes.
The first artefact we shared was not a design. It was a Lighthouse audit of the existing state, page by page, so the client could see the baseline before we proposed anything. Every review after that happened in Arabic on a live staging build, section by section.
The enquiry pipeline was wired to four named inboxes with an automatic acknowledgement to the sender, so no lead waits on one person. Their engineering manager described the engagement as taking the time to truly understand their needs and providing strategic guidance rather than a template.
Three requirements shaped the build. The work is the pitch: an engineering office is judged on what it has designed and supervised, so the data model is a hierarchy of services, sub-services and work examples, each with bilingual titles, descriptions and its own gallery, presented per branch.
The office must publish its own work: a protected editor lets staff add a project, write it up with a block editor and upload photographs that are converted to WebP on the way in. And Arabic is the product, not a translation: right-to-left from the root element down, with Arabic required and English optional.
The 2023 baseline on mobile read 58 for performance, 66 for accessibility, 100 for best practices and 77 for SEO, with a 4.5 MB page and a 4.8-second Largest Contentful Paint. The image pass that followed converted assets to WebP with explicit dimensions and srcset.
In 2024 the single-page app moved to server-side rendering with Angular Universal so crawlers receive full HTML, with a canonical service, per-page titles and descriptions, Arabic keyword targeting for the office's real search intents, and a sitemap covering every service entry point.
The site existed to produce enquiries from people who needed a licensed office for a permit, a design or supervision. The conversion path was short: a click-to-call button that appeared only on mobile, a contact form delivered by transactional email with an automatic reply, and galleries organised the way a prospective client asks. Because staff published through the editor, newly completed projects reached the site when they were most persuasive.
The office went from no digital footprint to a site that showed its portfolio the week a project finished and routed every enquiry to the people who answered it. The August 2023 baseline we shared with the client scored 58 for performance and 77 for SEO on mobile, with a 4.5 MB page and a 4.8-second Largest Contentful Paint; the image pipeline and the later move to server-side rendering addressed the causes that report named. Their engineering manager's testimonial about understanding needs and providing strategic guidance sits on our home page. The engagement is complete.
